Utah Dental Assistant Schools

There are several courses that potential dental assistants can take, as early on as high school, to prepare for their career. They include:

• Biology
• Business
• Chemistry
• Communications
• Health
• Math

These courses will ensure that the correct prerequisites are met in order to obtain admission to a dental hygiene program. Dental assistant programs vary in length, but most can be completed in one year or less. Most dental assistant programs will consist of classroom instruction and clinical and laboratory time. Class schedules will include more in-depth study of the above-mentioned courses as well as introduction and examination in dental materials, processes, and procedures.
