Utah’s message therapists must pass a series of examinations after completing 600 hours of education requirements at an approved Utah massage school, or complete a massage apprenticeship program with at least 1,000 hours of training. There are a variety of massage therapy schools in Utah located in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Orem, West Valley and other cities.

The coursework takes approximately six months (part-time) to a year (full-time) to complete through an online program or Utah massage school. The Utah massage therapy curriculum includes 150 hours of physiology, anatomy, and pathology, as well as 300 hours in theory and basic strokes.

Utah’s Message Therapy Practice Act requires massage therapists to pass the Utah Massage law and Rule Examination and either the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage (NCETM) or the Federation of State Massage Therapy boards (FSMTB) and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx.) Utah Massage Apprenticeship applicants are required to take the state examination and FSMTB MBLEx exams, according to state law.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Massage Therapists in Salt Lake City, West Valley, Provo and West Jordon, Utah may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Intermountain Medical Center, Saint Mark's Hospital, University of Utah Health Care and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

We currently have no schools offerings in UT for this career path at this time. (Check back with us)
