Average Salary for a Pharmacy Technician in Utah – UT

In a survey conducted as recently as 2009, the average salary for a pharmacy technician in Utah was found to be $31,100; which was about $14.95 per hour. However, there was a substantial difference in income level for professionals with more than just beginner-level experience. In fact, the highest reported average during that year was around $39,780; which was almost 22% more than Utah’s overall average. The bottom line here is that with just a few years of experience, you can increase your income dramatically.

One other thing to be aware of is the growing demand for medical care in our country. Statistically, about 6.1% of Utah’s population suffers from diabetes. While this is significantly lower than the national average of 8.1%, it still affects more than 169,000 residents. Patients with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes are likely to have a need for regular insulin dosing, which has created a greater demand among the pharmaceutical community. This is just another example of how the increasing demand for healthcare affects pharmacy technicians in Utah.
