A gerontology degree in Washington is any degree that focuses on gerontology, or the process of aging, whether it is in the psychological or physical capacity. This degree serves to demonstrate a specialization in the field of geriatrics. Those who earn this degree will be leaders in their chosen field.
Gerontology degrees in Washington can lead to work in the medical field, nutritional field and even deals with Washington’s laws regarding senior citizens. The student who wishes to focus on gerontology should be prepared to learn about the aging process as it pertains to the mind and the body.
Students will learn about the deterioration of the human body and the obstacles that senior citizens may face in today’s society. They should be prepared for a curriculum that covers geriatric psychology and the physiologic process of aging.
