An Associate of Science Degree from an accredited school will be the expected degree you will seek. This education will give you experience that will include direct contact in a medical setting. You will be required to know how to lift and handle clients.
You will also need to understand precautionary procedures such as Aids training and CPR. Much of your career is focused on human body physiology. Therefore, your coursework will reflect that in the type of biological science classes you will take. Other courses will include higher math, communications, and in-depth kinesiology. There are a few Washington physical therapy assistant schools available.
Washington Physical Therapy Assistant Continuing Education
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you are directed to accomplish 40 hours of continued education every two years. These units may include up to ten hours of online training while the remainder must be in a direct contact setting. To qualify for these hours, you must select an organization that is authorized by the state to issue the course work.
If you do not complete your CE hours in time, you could be in danger of a license suspension.
