American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA): This is the largest professional organization representing the needs of dental hygienists. The mission of this society is to improve the art and science of dental hygiene. The organization strives to meet this goal by providing access to quality oral health care, educate the public of the cost benefits regarding prevention, maintain high standards in licensure, research, and education, and finally, represent the professional field of dental hygiene. ADHA is organized on 3 levels. First, there is the component level. This level consists of the local dental hygiene associations. At this level, components organize community involvement regarding the dental hygienist profession. They are the first level of involvement for the individual members.

Second, there is the constituent level. This level is the state level. The constituent organizations serve the components in their jurisdictions. Third, there is the national level. This level represents the interests of all dental hygienists. The American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) is a member-based organization. There are many benefits to becoming a member.
