Students must have completed their schooling at one of the educational institutions offering accredited physician assistant programs in Wisconsin. The two acceptable organizations are the CAHE and the AMA. There is no superiority over one affiliation or the other, but it is rather important that one of these organizations accredit the school.

The Committee on Allied Health Education, or CAHE, accredits several schools’ physician assistant programs in Wisconsin and across the nation.  They are responsible for upholding their mission statement and reflecting the ethics of this profession in their teachings.

The American Medical Association, or AMA, is more widely known in that most all doctors belong to this group and maintain membership with them. Physician assistants are also allowed membership to this group and they are authorized to accredit schools with their standards, as well.

In order to renew national certification, you will need to pay the renewal fee of $225 and have the minimum of 100 educational credits of continuing education. You are required to accumulate these credits over a two-year period. Once you have done so, you will be directed by the NCCPA to take the PANRE test, or the Physician Assistant National Recertifying Examination. These continuing education requirements will start over biannually and you must take the examination biannually, also.

What are the Earnings of a Physician Assistant in Wisconsin?

The national average income of all physician assistants in Wisconsin is $63,000.
