Education Through Wisconsin Public Health Schools
The state of Wisconsin may be best known for its production of cheese, but don’t let that fool you. Wisconsin is as concerned about the safety of the public as any other state in the United States. Though the average salary for public health employees in Wisconsin is found to be around $48,000, which can be for a variety of reasons. For instance, perhaps the amount of clerical workers exceeds the amount of licensed professionals in such a way as to tip the balance average enough to make a difference. This is good news for those that wish to enter the public health field in Wisconsin.
Anyone planning to focus on public health as a career choice will also need to make the choice to prepare for an extensive education through online programs or campus based Wisconsin public health schools. The rule of thumb in this field is that the more specialized a person is and the further they go with their education, the more valuable they will be to his particular field. Most licenses in public health begin at the master level. To begin the educational portion of this profession, interested individuals should make sure that the program they enroll in is recognized by the State of Wisconsin department of Licensing and Regulation. If the program is recognized, then the student should put great effort into maintaining a satisfactory GPA and be prepared to spend time on an internship or clinical practicum, depending on the specific requirements of their field. Most professional licenses in Wisconsin also require a continued education program so that the professional is kept up to date on the requirements and improvements in their field.
Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Public Health Professionals in Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay, Wisconsin may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Aurora Saint Luke's Medical Center, Saint Joseph's Hospital, University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and Saint Mary's Hospital.
