Ultrasound technician education usually begins in high school by completing math and science courses that will lay the groundwork for a future in ultrasound technician. Although these courses are not mandatory, employers, secondary-education schools, program providers and registry agencies working with ultrasound technicians do require a high school diploma or equivalent. Post high school, students are advised to attend a higher learning institution to gain further education in ultrasound technician. Some Wisconsin ultrasound technician schools include:
- 1-year vocational school
- 2-year associate’s program
- 4-year bachelor’s program
- Armed Forces
To gain entrance into one of the Wisconsin ultrasound technician schools, students must often complete a variety of general math and science college courses. Some of these classes include:
- Algebra
- Physics
- Anatomy
- Medical terminology
- Patient care
