There are a few dental assistant schools in Wyoming. One college in Wyoming offers a certificate program in dental assisting and claims that the program will allow the student to be ready to take the Certified Dental Assistant national exam. Courses offered for the certificate include Orientation to Dental Assisting, Dental Assisting Fundamentals, Dental Radiography, Dental Office Procedures, Dental Therapeutics and Emergency Management as well as computer and accounting courses as well as electives.
There are also two-year programs that offer associate’s degrees, if someone wants that, instead of a certificate. Dental assistants can also learn the trade through on-the-job training. All information can be obtained through the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Dental Assistants in Cheyenne, Casper, Laramie, Gillette and Rock Springs, Wyoming may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Campbell County Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Saint John's Medical Center and Wyoming Medical Center.
