Massage Therapy Schools in Wyoming

Wyoming massage therapists are not officially required to be formally educated through a Wyoming massage school, but many choose to follow the NCBTMB’s guidelines and obtain a minimum of 500 hours of course time as well as a practicum or internship so as to develop the skills necessary to perform the work effectively.

As formal education through a Wyoming massage school is not officially required for Wyoming massage therapists, neither is continuing education. Still, the NCBTMB requires its certified therapists to complete 48 hours of continuing education hours, as well as documentation proving 200 hours of working massage therapy experience during the four year period prior to recertification. Continuing education hours may include classes taken from NCBTMB approved institutions or providers, other certifications, coursework and college degrees, presentations, holding leadership positions at a state or national level, clinical internships, publications and research or even approved self-directed projects.

Many Wyoming massage therapists choose to become nationally certified or licensed, even if their particular city or county doesn’t require it. This way, they may find better jobs, gain credibility and offer a sense of security to their clients. Plus, involving themselves with a national licensing or certification agency can help massage therapists to stay abreast of current news and information in the industry.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Massage Therapists in Cheyenne, Casper, Laramie, Gillette and Rock Springs, Wyoming may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Campbell County Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Saint John's Medical Center and Wyoming Medical Center.

We currently have no schools offerings in WY for this career path at this time. (Check back with us)
