In the state of Wyoming, there is no law that pertains to how to become a medical biller or coder. While there are certainly important accreditations that potential medical billers and coders should equally pay attention to, there is nothing laid out by Wyoming law in order for someone to seek employment in this profession.

That being said, it is important to understand why Wyoming state law does not provide any specific information about becoming a medical biller or coder. The medical billing and coding profession standards are regularly kept by accrediting organizations like the American Health Information Management Association, or AHIMA.

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the average Wyoming medical billing and coding salary is currently around $36,000 per year. However, it is important for Wyoming students to remember that the AAPC estimates that students who obtain their certification make roughly 20% more annually than those professionals without such certification.
