Becoming a Personal Trainer in Wyoming
Employers for personal trainers could range from fitness clubs or gyms to working one on one with people, and personal trainers can work for themselves and offer group classes as well. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics says that, in data from 2006, of all the reported fitness workers, 8 percents were self-employed fitness workers. This bodes well for the personal trainer that wants to become self-employed. A large number of those are people who were already in the practice of personal training. Other options are working for organizations. A personal trainer can also make their own schedule, which is another bonus in working in this field.
Personal training will be a continuously growing field with the ever-increasing interest in fitness among the United States population. Currently in Wyoming, there is no requirement to gain state licensure to practice as a personal trainer. A person interested in personal training may still want to earn a certificate or a degree related to personal training to help them pursue their career helping people with their fitness goals. Although in Wyoming personal trainer certification through national organizations isn’t a requirement, any employer will expect that you have been thoroughly trained in how to establish and safely conduct a routine.
After completing your education through an online program you may electively choose to take a national certifying exam through a third party agency.
