To become a physical therapist in the state of Wyoming, the minimal education requirement is 6 years.  Four years of undergraduate study is required and a minimum of two years in an accredited Physical Therapy program, resulting in a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy.

Undergraduate study must include courses in social science, statistics, anatomy, chemistry, mathematics, biology and physics.
The two to three year Physical Therapy graduate program includes classes in science, such as pharmacology, neuroscience, cellular histology, biomechanics, physiology, exercise physiology and radiology.  Some of the courses that have to do with clinical studies are examination tests and measures, therapeutic interventions, medical screening, practice management and outcomes assessment.
During the Physical Therapy graduate program the student will also work in different clinic situations under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

The trend in the field of Physical Therapy is leaning toward changing the minimum requirements for becoming a physical therapist.    Students are being strongly encouraged to go on and earn their doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.  This advanced degree, also, opens the door to more specialized jobs with higher paying salaries.

There are not currently any Wyoming physical therapy schools. However, there are a variety of online physical therapy programs available to Wyoming residents.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Physical Therapists in Cheyenne, Casper, Laramie, Gillette and Rock Springs, Wyoming may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Campbell County Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Saint John's Medical Center and Wyoming Medical Center.
