Alabama Ultrasound Technician Schools - AL

Alabama has been a prime example of innovation and originality since it joined the Union in 1819. A typical sonography program takes one to two years to complete, especially if students are pursuing an Associate's degree. Associate's degree candidates cannot just focus on their sonography classes; they have to take a general set of courses in English, algebra, anatomy and physiology, physical science, and communications while they work toward their degree. They can take these classes in unison with their sonography classes, which focus on medical terminology, pathology, sonographic terms, anatomy, abdominal sonography, gynecological sonography, and more.

Once they successfully complete the program and pass the ARDMS exams, they must participate in continuing education classes, and earn 15 CME credits through the ARDMS. CME credits come in the form of seminars offered by ARDMS-approved organizations.

Through campus based and online programs, aspiring ultrasound technicians in Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile and Huntsville, Alabama may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including Huntsville Hospital, Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Saint Vincent's Birmingham, and Dekalb Regional Medical Center.
