Sonographer Training in Arizona - AZ
At this time, there are no state requirements for certification/licensing in Arizona for ultrasound technicians; therefore, the following information is regarding continuing medical education (CME) credits put forth by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS). Registrants are required to keep track and submit documentation regarding Arizona ultrasound technician training (CME credits). A minimum of 30 CME credits per 3-year period is required to maintain an active status regardless of the number of earned credentials. The ARDMS will conduct an annual audit to verify compliance with proper CME reporting. It is the registrant's responsibility to provide appropriate documentation if one is selected for an audit. It is best to keep records for up to 4 years.
The ARDMS website has a listing of websites where CME credits can be earned. For example the GE Healthcare website has online continuing medical education courses free of charge that would count towards CME credits. There are also companies and organizations that provide CME credits for a fee. The Advanced Health Education Center provides an array of coursework and training that also qualifies for CME credits.
