A dentistry career in Hawaii is going to involve being able to diagnose and treat disease or injury to the mouth and jaw area. However, since people are more and more concerned about the appearance of their teeth as well as dental health, a dentist in Hawaii may find that he or she is also doing a great deal of work in the whitening and veneer area of dentistry.
You will need to graduate from a school of dentistry, pass the exam issued by the National Board of Dental Examinations and then pass the American Board of Dental Examiners Dental Licensure Examination. You will then be a licensed dentist in Hawaii. Once you become a licensed dentist, you can maintain your licensure in Hawaii by renewing your license every odd numbered year by December 21st. This is done through the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Professional and Vocational Licensing division.
