Prerequisite Requirements
Students entering an accredited physician assistant program in Georgia should know that most programs in the state of Georgia require applicants to have completed at least 90 semester hours of prior college education. A 3.0 GPA must be maintained while completing these courses. Prerequisite courses include English, General Psychology, Biology, and other general core classes. Other prerequisite courses include Algebra, Trigonometry, and other college level math courses. Recommended course for an accredited program are Literature, Applied Arts, and further Humanities courses. Other helpful courses cover Social Science, Professional skills, and Computer Basics. Science course, such as Anatomy and Physics, are also suggested for the educational programs.

Master of Physician Assistant
Once accepted into one of the accredited physician assistant programs in Georgia, the successful completion of that program will result in a Master’s degree. The Master of Physician Assistant degree usually takes 28 months to complete, given all the prerequisite requirements are fulfilled prior to entering the program. The program covers the academic courses needed to gain the knowledge necessary of the medical profession. The training includes the clinical skills needed to perform the basic duties required in the profession. The curriculum prepares the students for the national exam needed to obtain the state license. After successfully completing the program, the national exam can be taken.
