Continuing Education/Licensure Renewal

The Georgia Composite Medical Board requires that license holders renew their license every 2 years. When recertifying, the applicant will need to provide proof of 30 hours or 3 continuing education units over the past two years. Recertification also requires that the professional keep up to date with requirements from the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Georgia Society for Respiratory Care (GASRC)
GASRC provides networking, education, job opportunities and more for respiratory care professionals in Georgia. This organization also helps to connect members to national organizations and advocacy groups.

Georgia Association of Sleep Professionals (GASP)
GASP brings together all of those practitioners who help patients with sleep disorders. Including respiratory therapists who specialize in sleep disorders.

Through campus or online programs, aspiring Respiratory Therapists in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus and Savannah, Georgia may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Anchor Hospital, Grady Memorial Hospital, St Joseph's Hospital and Columbus Regional Hospital.
