Educational Requirements for Veterinary Technicians in Hawaii

Veterinary Technicians in the state of Hawaii do not need to be certified or licensed to be eligible to practice. However, Certified Veterinary Technicians in the state make $31,000 annually, which amounts to about $3000 per year more than those who are not certified (they earn about $28,000 each year). Therefore, education in a quality, accredited program and passing the national certification exam is imperative to earn top dollar as a Veterinary Technician in Hawaii. In addition to working with domesticated animals, many Veterinary Technicians in Hawaii get the opportunity to work with some of the state's endangered species, such as the Hawaiian monk seal.
