Health Information Technology Certification in Idaho - ID

Health information technology is one of the few career paths in the health industry that doesn’t involve direct contact with patients. Instead, employees work primarily with data and technology. For this reason, HIT is a less regulated industry than most health fields. Because health technicians manage electronic health records (EHRs) and process medical data, however, they do play an important part in insuring patient health and security. Employers in Idaho generally require that a prospective employee has the skills and specialized training necessary. Generally this comes in the form of health information technology certification. RHIT certification in Idaho is available to those students who have finished a two year degree program at an accredited school and who have received passing scores on the test given by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Accredited programs can be found online through a number of flexible programs.This career has unique job responsibilities and required skills.
