Homeopathy Programs in California - CA
California’s legislature passed a bill in 2002 that allows its residents access to complementary and alternative health care practitioners who are not providing services that requiremedical training and credentials. The state’s legislature found that such nonmedical complementary and alternative services did not pose a risk to the health and safety of California residents, so restricting access to those services was not warranted. This act opened the door for more students to pursue homeopathy training in California, knowing that there were a variety of career opportunities waiting for them upon graduation.
After completing a homeopathic training program in California, which can run from three to four years, some students elect to pursue homeopathic certification in addition to their degree. California does not mandate homeopathic certification, but some professional homeopaths say that their practice is looked upon more favorably if they possess professional certification. This option is available through many organizations, including the Council for Homeopathic Certification. In order to qualify for certification, you must have completed at least 500 hours of classical homeopathic training, along with anatomy and physiology courses, plus 250 hours of documented clinical observation and analysis obtained from a formal clinic situation where you observe homeopathic practitioners at work. You must also pass an examination given by the council, consisting of both theoretical and practical sections.
