Idaho Medical Laboratory Technician Training Program

Education/Degrees/Coursework for Medical Technicians in Idaho

Idaho, the state that produces one-fourth of the nation’s potato crop, has become a favorite among winter sports enthusiasts and its tourism industry now tops other economic sectors in revenue. Points of interest range from the Craters of the Moon National Monument, Nez Perce’ which includes many sites visited by Lewis and Clark, the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area to the dramatic Hells Canyon on the Idaho-Oregon border.

In addition to tourism, education and healthcare sectors are also looking strong in the coming years, according to the state’s Division of Financial Management and the Idaho Labor Department. Officials of the state attribute the positive outlook for these sectors to the growing number of people who have moved to the state to retire.

Idaho medical technician training programs generally last two years and award an associate degree. Coursework includes instruction on functioning in a laboratory setting. Students will learn and work with the instruments, supplies and equipment for the job.
