Idaho Healthcare Informatics School - ID

Nursing informatics students in Idaho have a range of choices including a master-level or post-master certificate level program, nursing informatics graduate degree, or certificate programs for training. One school offers a master’s level program at its campus and seven schools have online training including one offering a Health Informatics Certificate. Any of these options should provide the necessary skills and knowledge to advance a nursing informatics career in Idaho.  There are a variety of online Idaho nursing informatics programs as well.

Degree programs in nursing informatics in Idaho commonly include the following topics: management, finance, accounting, legal, health and disease factors, and information resources skills; education on long term care; how to use technology for improvement of health care quality; ways to use technology to lower health care costs; electronic information systems management; information security; and data integrity regulatory compliance.

Nursing informatics internships, also referred to as practicums, are typically required for Idaho master's degree students to increase their experience in a target area under the guidance of an experienced nurse. Some nursing schools require students to have two clinical practicum experiences, which are two semester credits each.
