Continued Education for Pharmacy Technicians in Illinois
To recertify in Illinois, you must log 20 hours of hands on continued education credits in pharmacy related subjects. Your supervising Pharmacist will log your hours on a PTCB Universal Continuing Education Form. You must earn all 20 hours of CE credits during the 2 years of your certification period, or by the expiration date of that certification. The cost for the reinstatement application is $80. Once your recertification application has been approved, they will issue you a new wallet card, and a PTCB certificate (in approximately 60 days). Failure to successfully complete the recertification process will result in the loss of your PTCB certification, and there are no exceptions or extensions in that case.
