Fort Wayne is the second largest city in the state and here, a median annual salary for a midwife is $103,000.  Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne is one of the medical facilities where midwives practice.

In another city, Evansville, a median yearly salary is $84,000. 

Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration has an initiative to improve the number of healthy babies born to Medicaid mothers in Indiana. As such, the services of a nurse-midwife are covered under Indiana’s Hoosier Healthwise program for low-income families.
