Schooling required for a dental assistant is whatever your potential employer deems necessary. However, to perform radiography or coronal polishing, you need to attend a special class. Kentucky Dental Assistant Continuing Education Requirements

There are no requirements for continuing education for dental assistants in Kentucky. However, if you are performing additional duties such as coronal polishing, pumicing or radiography, additional education is required.
