Veterinary Technician Schools in Maine

Like most states, Maine mandates that all veterinary technicians first obtain a license from the Department of Professional Licensing prior to employment. Licenses are only granted to those that possess a high school diploma (or GED), have completed at least an associate degree program from an accredited school, and have passed a veterinarian technician national examination. Once these three eligibility requirements are met, professionals will need to submit an application along with several licensing fees. The initial licensing fee is $30, the application fee is $20, and the criminal background fee is $21.
