Continuing Education in Michigan for Personal Trainers

The main thing personal trainers need to do is keep up their certification.  Most certifications are good for two years.  After which time the trainer needs to have met renewal requirements set forth by their certification program.  This most often includes continuing education hours in classroom education and hand-on cases and possibly even a personal fitness exam.  CPR certification must also be maintained by a personal trainer.

Some personal trainers choose to go on to pursue a higher level of education, such as a bachelor’s or even a master’s degree. Most often these degrees are earned in exercise science, physical education or kinesiology. Health and nutrition degree programs can also prove valuable for personal trainers.
