MRI Tech School in Minnesota

One of the reasons that many health care students decide to enroll in Minnesota MRI technician schools is due to the variety of MRI technician programs that are available there. By graduating from a MRI-related program, students are earn one of the following: Certificate in Sonography, Certificate in Radiation Therapy, Certificate in Radiography, Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging, Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology, Associate in Radiation Therapy, Associate in Radiography, Bachelor of Applied Science in Radiation Therapy, and Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology. Students can expect most certificate programs to last between twelve and eighteen months, associate degree programs to last twenty-four months, and bachelor degree programs to last two years.

All programs will request proof of a high school diploma prior to admission, and may also require the completion of pre-requisite courses in science, math, health, and communication. Once enrolled, curriculum requirements will differ between programs. However, here are some courses currently found in MRI and radiology programs throughout Minnesota: Ultrasound Principles, Special Modality Imaging, Medical Terminology, Pediatric Sonography, Special Procedures and Patient Care, Advanced Imaging, Radiation Oncology Physics, and Principles of Exposure. Most education programs intend to qualify students to sit for MRI competency evaluation by a certification board.
