It is, however, still a regulated profession, which means that you must meet certain educational requirements set forth by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Midwives in Nebraska are recognized as Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM). In order to be eligible for this designation, you must have a master degree education in nursing and midwifery.
