Nursing Informatics Schools in Nevada
Nursing informatics education programs are master’s degree programs that are offered through universities either on site or through online and/or distance learning options. In order to be eligible for one of these educational programs, one must have already completed a registered nurse (RN) program, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program and also have satisfied the requirements for state licensure for nursing in Nevada. There is currently one Nevada nursing informatics program but a variety of online options. It is simply a matter of researching both types of programs and determining which type meets your needs.
Particularly if you choose to obtain your master’s degree through the online route, it is highly recommended that you seek out job shadowing and mentoring opportunities in order to give you a better perspective of what the field of nursing informatics is all about. While the educational component more than prepares you to begin this new career, practical experience often proves invaluable and can also lead to increased networking potential and possible employment offers.
