New Jersey Healthcare Informatics School - NJ
Once you have completed a nursing program and earned the Registered Nurse (RN) credential and satisfied New Jersey licensure requirements for nursing, in order to become a nursing informatics professional you will then need to continue your education and complete a Bachelor of Science degree program in nursing (BSN). This degree will then make you eligible to apply for admission into a master’s degree program for nursing informatics. These nursing informatics programs are typically two years in length and are offered as campus/on-site programs or online programs. There are two New Jersey nursing informatics programs offered at campus-based universities. Both are master’s level and at state universities. In addition to these two options there are a wide variety of nursing informatics programs offered online for New Jersey students. The national trend appears to be leaning towards online programs, as these allow nurses to continue working while earning their degree at the same time. If this option is what works best for you, keep in mind that the two year time line will most likely be extended if you are not able to maintain a full time student status.Through campus based and online programs, aspiring Nurses in Health Informatics in Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, Elizabeth, Edison and Woodbridge, New Jersey may be able to prepare themselves for the possibility of employment in some of the largest hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state including the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Bergen Regional Medical Center, Atlanticare Regional Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center.
