New Mexico Personal Trainer Schools - NM


A CPR and AED certification should be acquired when practicing in this profession. Both the CPR and AED certification can be obtained through New Mexico personal training courses at local colleges and vocational schools. Employers often look for some form of educational training prior to hiring Personal Trainers. Suggested courses include Medical Terminology and Physical Education.

For those that choose to continue their education to achieve an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, certain course are required to successfully complete the educational program. Course in Diet and Nutrition are required, including Energy Systems, Vitamins and Minerals, and the legal issues for recommending diets. Courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology are also required. These courses include Biomechanics, Kinesiology, and tissues and muscles. Courses also include the proper use for weight training equipment, muscle strengthening, and proper spotting techniques. Hands-on training is also taught in these programs to allow the students to practice their academic knowledge and skills. Hands-on training is only done under the supervision of a certified professional. Some choose to include business classes in sales and marketing for their career.
