North Dakota Medical Assistant Courses – ND

Medical assisting requires you to be able to handle diversity in your daily tasks. Medial assistants handle everything from general office duties to medical transcription to patient care such as vital signs, medical histories and charting. In some facilities, medical assistants with the proper training and certifications perform more specialized procedures such as x-rays and blood draws. You will want to be prepared for the job if you want to succeed in your new career.

Medical assisting training in North Dakota can be found online, at vocational or community colleges and even in some of the larger colleges and universities. The most important thing is that your program of choice be accredited by either the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP). You will take classes on administrative duties such as typing, transcription, charting & medical/insurance billing. Many courses also include classes on anatomy, clinical procedures and medical basics like terminology and vital signs. Some courses include hands on training and your certification and employer will most likely require continuing education every 3-5 years to keep your skills and certification current.
