Nurse Practitioner School in Idaho - ID

If a nursing student finds the Rocky Mountain lifestyle appealing, Idaho is a great place to live while gaining an education. With waterfalls higher than Niagara Falls, the deepest canyon in the country and one of the largest unspoiled federal lands in the United States – the 2.3 million acre Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area, exploration is endless.  There are plenty of winter and summer sports.  Though landlocked, there are elevations over 12,000 feet and plenty of water recreation. Rivers include the Columbia and Snake as well as several large lakes scattered throughout the state.

One deficit however is a lack of master's level nurse practitioner schools in Idaho. There are very few. Getting an education in Idaho often means choosing online degree programs, especially for those located in rural regions, which accounts for most of the state.  This is also a sensible option for the RN looking to transition to the higher salary that often comes with an MSN degree.

A quality master's level education, whether at college or online, is expected to take approximately three years for the average student. However, there are options available for speeding the process up or slowing it down. It may be possible to take longer if part time study is preferred.  It is important that the school be accredited and accepted both by national certifying agencies and state boards who control nursing licenses.
