Oklahoma Healthcare Informatics School - OK
Unfortunately there are no Oklahoma nursing informatics programs within the state, however, there are a variety of online options available. In the distance learning programs, there are usually two options: Master of Science in nursing with a specialization in nurse informatics and Masters of Health Administration/informatics. The MSN program is designed to further and advance the practice of the student as a registered nurse. There are a couple of classes that teach the student about informatics and data management. This program is more focused on the clinical practice of a nurse with some credits learning in informatics.
The Master of Health Administration/informatics program offers classes that teach about the organization and management in health care. The informatics-focused classes teach about federal and state regulations for technology and documentation in the health care system. These classes will show the student how to use the technology and how to use it effectively and efficiently. This program is for those who want to do more in informatics, especially administration.
