In Oregon, veterinary technicians need to have completed high school and two years of a veterinary technician program from one of the accredited online or campus based Oregon vet tech schools. A two-year degree can be completed in as little as sixteen months, depending on the student’s course load each semester. Only students that complete programs that the AVMA have approved are eligible to take the VTNE examination.
