Radiologic Technologist Job Description in Georgia - GA

Georgia does not require its radiologic technologists or radiographers to become licensed. Radiologic technologists must obtain such certification through examination, which occurs after graduation. This examination will test an applicant’s knowledge of the job procedures and duties and clinical competencies of the job.

A radiologic technologist who works in Georgia can expect to perform job duties such as diagnostic imaging, routine radiography, fluoroscopy; and depending upon one’s sub-specialization (if any), trauma radiography, surgical and mobile radiography, pediatric radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy. This job growth is even larger than the country’s average predicted increase of 17 percent, and amounts to an amazing 240 new job openings in Georgia each year.
