South Carolina Pharmacy Tech School – SC
According to city-data.com, South Carolina is one of the most popular destinations for retirees in America today. This is good news for those seeking to be pharmacy technicians, as older adults tend to need more medications. Greater demand for services means that there will be more positions open to fill that need. The same things that draw retirees – low cost of living and comfortable temperatures year-round also make South Carolina a great choice for those just starting a new career.
Continuing Education Requirements for Pharmacy Technicians in South Carolina
The South Carolina Board of Labor, Licensing and Regulation requires all pharmacy technicians to apply for recertification at least every two years. When you apply for recertification, you must prove that you completed 20 hours of continuing education courses through seminars, workshops and online offerings. Of those 20 hours, eight hours must be ‘live’ participation, not online. The SCPhA has complete listings of all continuing education opportunities throughout the state and links to registration pages.
