Cardiac Sonography Careers in Texas – TX
The job responsibilities of a cardiac sonographer include performing procedures in the echo lab, managing assigned supplies and equipment in the cardiovascular lab, maintaining CPR certification, completing the appropriate paperwork and computer work for physicianinterpretation, performing miscellaneous clerical duties, assisting in other departments, and adhering to the workplace’s code of ethics and conduct. Although Texas does not necessitate that its cardiac sonographers become certified, they must complete a specified route of training to be qualified to perform the challenging technical duties of this job.
Cardiac sonographer jobs in Texas may be found all over the state, in cities such as Houston, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, El Paso, Arlington, Corpus Christi, Plano, Laredo, Lubbock and Amarillo. Echocardiographers work in hospitals, physicians’ offices, outpatient facilities, government care centers and the like. Because Texas is the second largest state, both in size and population, you can imagine that there is a great need for echocardiographers in all parts of the state. The death rate from heart disease in Texas is 252.7 per 100,000, ranking it 15th of all the states. Perhaps some of those deaths could have been prevented had there been more trained, qualified cardiac sonographers working to help Texas citizens with early detection.
