As the state of Texas does not require its cardiac sonographers to be licensed or certified, choosing a school is not quite as difficult as it is in other states. Because of the lack of certification required, the cardiac sonographer training in Texas which you choose does not need to be accredited or approved by any organization or body.  Cardiac sonographer training involves a mixture of courses and clinical experience. Classes you will take include ultrasound physics and instrumentation, anatomy and physiology and pharmacology. Usually, one takes an echocardiographer training program after completing an associate or bachelor degree in a health science. Most echocardiographer training programs take from 8 months to 18 months to complete and result in a certificate.
