Upon earning your CAAHEP or ABHES accredited degree or diploma through a Texas medical assistant school, submit all necessary application forms to a nationally recognized certification board or agency, such as American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA.org) to schedule a CMA certification examination. There is a $125 application fee for members of the AAMA and for recent graduates (within 12 months of graduation), and a $250 fee non-members or graduates who have exceeded the 12 month grace period.
