The long horn state requires the completion of an accredited program offered by physician assistant schools in Texas.  Students applying to such programs typically have a college degree and some health-related work experience.  Degrees in pre-med or science fields are preferred.  Full-time students can usually complete a physician assistant education program in two years.

Most physician assistants will be awarded a master’s degree upon completion of the above education.
