American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA): This is the largest professional organization representing the needs of dental hygienists. The mission of this society is to improve the art and science of dental hygiene. ADHA is organized on 3 levels. First, there is the component level. This level consists of the local dental hygiene associations. At this level, components organize community involvement regarding the dental hygienist profession. They are the first level of involvement for the individual members.
Second, there is the constituent level. This level is the state level. The constituent organizations serve the components in their jurisdictions. Third, there is the national level.
