Education Requirements for Physical Therapy Assistants in Wyoming

The Board will only license applicants that have graduated from one of the online or campus based Wyoming physical therapy assistant schools that has received accreditation by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) therefore, it is imperative you attend an approved school.

During the course of your education, you will perform a portion of it in tangible clinical settings. Allowing you to have first-hand knowledge of how you will operate in your career has proven a valuable learning tool for the future PTA.

Clinical skills are gained from diverse situations. You may find that some assignments will call upon you to receive clinical exposure at a hospital or medical office. PTA programs also involve having students worki in clinics and long-term care facilities. This portion of your education is usually during the second semester.

Along with direct experience, you will also need to take courses designed to familiarize you with theories and practices in your field.

While you will find that you are taking a great deal of science, you will also need to understand the emotional and relational side of your career. Therefore, you will have courses assigned to enhance those abilities as well.

Required Continuing Education (CE) and Renewal of Your License
