Wyoming Radiology Technician Continuing Education
In order to maintain Wyoming licensure, you must comply with the ARRT continuing education requirements (twenty-four every two years) and submit a copy of your ARRT card as proof of compliance to the WBRTE. There are several options for continuing education hours, including publication in a radiology textbook or a peer-reviewed journal, presentation at a professional course or conference, and instruction of or completion of CPR through the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or the American Safety and Health Institute. Wyoming offers one educational option for a student seeking a career in radiology technology. An associate’s degree program is a two-year program that combines classroom and clinical education learning. Community colleges and technical academies offer this program and there are two in Wyoming that a student can choose to attend. All of the classroom learning is offered onsite at the school, while affiliated hospitals and clinics are the sites for the clinical experiences. There are also a variety of online options for students in Wyoming wishing to pursue this career field.
Classes offered in this program include Introduction to Radiologic Technology, Patient Care and Management, Radiographic Imaging and Positioning, and Pharmacology. The clinical portion allows the student to apply what they have learned in the classroom under the supervision of clinical instructors and other certified technologists.
